VINTAGE ABQ 26

ALBUQUERQUE'S PREMIER FINE WINE & FOOD FIESTA TO SUPPORT NEW MEXICOARTS EDUCATION PROGRAMS

VINTAGE ALBUQUERQUE IS A 501C3 NON-PROFIT CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION

For the past 25 years, Vintage Albuquerque has presented the city’s premiere multi-day food and wine event to raise funds and awareness for arts education and its role in early childhood development. As the largest charitable wine auction in the Southwest, Vintage Albuquerque has raised over $3 million to date.

We thank our sponsors who make this happen.

Kids Need Art. Adults Need Wine.

Vintage Albuquerque began 26 years ago, to help the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra fund their music in the schools program. Seven years ago, Vintage Albuquerque became an independent 501C3 non-profit charitable organization chartered to raise money to support arts education for New Mexico students. In addition to supporting the NMSO for 18 years, Vintage Albuquerque has raised money for the Albuquerque Museum Foundation, Albuquerque Youth Symphony, Arts in the School, APS Fine Arts Program, New Mexico Jazz Workshop, New Mexico Philharmonic, Popejoy Hall, NDI-New Mexico, and others.

Beneficiaries

BENEFICIARIES

The arts in New Mexico public schools have been severely reduced and, in some cases, eliminated. This is of concern because it is crucial to expose children to creativity, expression, imagination and original thinking at an early age. New Mexico is blessed with a culture of creativity that not only is a major legacy, but will allow us to thrive for generations to come. All funds distributed through Vintage Albuquerque support arts, music, dance, theater and other artistic education programs. Our benefactors have had a tremendous impact. Last year, Vintage Albuquerque was pleased to distribute over $120,000 to our 2016 beneficiaries. Many thanks to our donors, participants and volunteers!

The 2017 Vintage Albuquerque Beneficiaries are:
Working Classroom

WORKING CLASSROOM

Working Classroom cultivates the artistic, civic and academic minds of youth by providing access to in-depth art, theater and new media training that promotes diverse voices in the arts, nurtures intellectual curiosity, and demands a more equitable society. We support and connect our students to professional opportunities so they contribute to the creative economy and build a better world.

New Mexico Philharmonic

NEW MEXICO PHILHARMONIC

The New Mexico Philharmonic enriches the lives of New Mexicans through musical excellence, educational opportunities and community engagement.  It achieves this through live orchestral concerts for the public and education programs for public school children.

Opera Southwest

OPERA SOUTHWEST

Opera Southwest’s mission is to produce quality, professional, enjoyable and accessible opera in an intimate setting for audiences of all ages.  In our 45 year history, we have endeavored to play a leadership role in arts education within the community with the upcoming world premier of commissioned opera Bless Me Ultima being the latest initiative.  Opera Southwest has experienced modest operating profits along with enhanced artistic excellence for the last 4 years which allows us to present our first 3 opera season ever in 2017/18.  We look forward to our partnership with Vintage Albuquerque!

National Hispanic Cultural Center

NATIONAL HISPANIC CULTURAL CENTER

The National Hispanic Cultural Center is proud to serve approximately 30,000 school-age students each year by providing motivating and meaningful educational opportunities in humanities and sciences. We offer school day events, family events, community programming, exhibitions, online resources, summer institutes, teacher trainings, and our library holdings. For every program we offer, we strive to provide exceptional arts learning and a social investigative experience and we remain focused on serving as a catalyst and inspiration for youth in entering a deep connection to and exploration of our rich Hispanic cultural identities and the places that have shaped them. New Mexico Jazz Workshop

NEW MEXICO JAZZ WORKSHOP

For over 40 years, the NM Jazz Workshop has ensured access to a higher quality of life through music education and performance. With a focus on uniquely-American Jazz, we deliver high quality concerts featuring local, national and international artists. Music education plays an equally important role and the Jazz Workshop reaches 5,000 young people annually through five unique music programs. They include: the South Valley Band Project (free out of school time music classes for at-risk middle schoolers); Digital Technology Project (music composition and mixing classes for teens who are incarcerated or on probation); Jazz Camp (a jazz-focused camp for teens); Camp Bee-Jammin’ (music & arts camp for children); and Roots of Jazz (free engaging music programs delivered to APS schools).

VINTAGE ALBUQUERQUE LEADERSHIP

Events like Vintage Albuquerque don’t produce themselves, though sometimes we wish they could. Thousands of hours of volunteer time go into planning and producing the event and all that goes with it. We appreciate those who officially dedicate their time and effort to this great series of events that provide fun and joy for thousands of us, and over the years, millions of dollars that support the programs that open worlds for New Mexico children.

ARTISTS

THANK YOU!

We can’t adequately express our gratitude for the artists who have supported Vintage Albuquerque over the last two decades. There have been many. When we think of those who give of themselves, no contribution represents that spirit more than the donations of the artists. Over the years, thousands upon thousands of hours have been contributed to VA, because the artists, more than anyone, know the true value of inspiring creativity and imagination in the young (and not so young) children of our state. Many of the youngsters touched by the arts programs supported by VA have gone on to creative endeavors of their own.

WINE LOTS

Wine is the highlight of Vintage Albuquerque. We are now acquiring wine lots for all auctions. Whether its a special single bottle, a case or a major thematic collection, we’d love to have it. If you are interested and able to help fill in lots that we are assembling,

TRIPS & EXPERIENCES

Do you have a villa in Tuscany that we can auction a guest stay? A friend who owns a winery in Argentina? A dinner you are willing to host? Or credit card points that you are willing to use for airfare? If so, please let us know. We can often piece together an unforgettable experience from a few donors.

JEWELRY, ART, & MORE

All auctions feature a variety of items to bid on. Although our featured artist has been selected and the art piece committed and complete, we are seeking additional donations of artwork and other “buyable creativity” that would augment the sales and shopping experience.
